Apple to be Investigated for ‘Unfair and Anti-Competitive’ terms on application developers

The “Competition and Markets Authority” of Britain to conduct an investigation on Apple Inc. for using their control over the Apple App store by imposing “unfair and anti- competitive” terms and conditions on the app developers, as they have to pay 15% to 30% of their revenue to Apple if they sell digital goods through the App Store and it found to be in violation of Competition Law.
According to CMA’s Chief Executive, Apple is using its market position to set terms that are unfair or may restrict competition & choice as iOS App Store is the only way to install apps onto iPhones, iPads, and Apple Watches, because of this influential position, the terms set by Apple for developers have huge sway, hence, it needs careful scrutiny.
