Tata Digital Ltd, a part of Tata sons Ltd, has decided to invest up to $75 million in fitness startup CureFit. Mukesh Bansal former founder of apparel & fashion website Myntra & now the co-founder & CEO of Curefit Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. Will also take up the executive role of president at Tata Digital. Tata Sons chairman, N Chandrasekaran, told that partnership with CureFit is indeed an apt decision taking into consideration the overall healthcare proposition where fitness is an integral part of the consumer’s life. They are glad to have Mukesh Bansal as a leader of their team Tata Digital.
Bansal responded, ”Joining Tata Digital is of immense honor to us. The consumer base of Tata Digital is huge, naturally, it will benefit us to reach a large number of consumers. Tata digital has an inspiring vision to create a next-generation consumer platform & I am excited to be a part of the team.”
According to the regulatory filings dated 27 May showed that Tata Digital is going to invest Rs.1,591 crore in BigBasket of which the online grocer has received Rs.1,167 crore. Tata Digital had also invested a sum of Rs.100 crore in online medicine startup 1MG in April. The company is also in talks with Just Dial a search engine for local businesses. Tata Digital is also planning to work on a super app to bring its customer businesses under one platform. It has aimed to offer digital payments, financial products, e-commerce & e-grocery. In May the shares of Tata Digital increased from Rs.1,000 crore to Rs.10,000 crore.
