The Delhi High court has granted Twitter a three week deadline to comply with the new IT rules. During the hearing of a registered Public Interest Litigation against non-compliance of social media Justice Rekha Palli told that Twitter must comply with the IT rules. The rules state that intermediary social media platforms must appoint a grievance officer, chief compliance officer & nodal contact person & publish their details on website along with a physical contact address. Various platforms like Google, Facebook, WhatsApp & other homegrown apps have provided details of the appointed personnel. Twitter had not completely abide by the rules yet.
