India’s income tax new e-filing portal has some technical issues faced by the taxpayers. Hence, on Saturday Infosys will roll out new functions on the portal. U.B. Pravin Rao, Infosys chief operating officer said that the company has over one lakh visitors and has processed one lakh returns. In 2019, Infosys had won a contract worth Rs.4,242 crore for the development of a next-generation income tax filing portal & centralized processing center 2.0. The site was developed with a view to shorten the process of IT returns from 63 days to a single day. The site launched on June 7, had various glitches for which the company is expressing regret. COO Rao assured that its shareholders are working towards resolving the issues. Nirmala Sitharaman has addressed the issue to Infosys chairman Nandan Nilekani regarding the glitches faced by taxpayers to which Rao replied that their shareholders are closely reviewing the issue.
