There will not be any change in the functionality of the messaging app WhatsApp for Indian users until the personal data protection law is implemented. Although reminder will always be given to the users regarding sharing of the details of business transactions to third party companies like Facebook. The ministry of electronics & IT (MeitY) had directed a letter to the company asking to withdraw its policies in the interests of Indian citizens. The PDP bill might bring about certain limitations on data collection which will hamper the WhatsApp policy. A WhatAspp spokesperson told that the privacy of users is the priority. The sole purpose is to provide additional information about the way people can interact in business. Although the functionality of WhatsApp will not be limited users will be notified about the update as & when they would communicate business through Facebook.
