President Biden is all set to introduce a Trump-era regulation aimed at resolving questions regarding China’s tech supply chain.

The Biden administration aims to enforce a Trump-era regulation that sanctions Chinese technology companies that are considered a threat to the US. In a letter to the Commerce Department in January, the US Chamber of Commerce and organisations representing major companies voiced worry that the temporary regulation gives it too much control, “nearly unlimited authority to intervene in virtually any commercial transaction between U.S. companies and their foreign counterparts that involves technology, with little to no due process, accountability, transparency, or coordination with other government programs.” The department will take public feedback on the said regulation until March 22nd.
